The band moved to the Bay Area in 1983 which is were they solidified their lineup with James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Cliff Burton, and Kirk Hammett. They would go on to record such records as Ride The Lightning and Master Of Puppets. Bassist Cliff Burton would sadly die on tour and was replaced by Jason Newsted.
